What’s a story?

“The essence of any great story is people.” We build empathy, explore ideas, and get to know one another through the stories we tell and the way we tell them.

In my third interview with Steve Clayton, I asked the difference between conveying information and telling a story. His answer begins with, “Let’s imagine.” He crafts a narrative of meeting me in a pub for a beer, and how pleasant it would be to catch up over some stories (and not some hard data). His visual example helped shape my understanding of his message. Whether you’re putting out a blog post, short film, or podcast, consider the ways you’d naturally tell that story to a friend.
